About Adhyapika Vidyalaya

Ramabai Ranade and Gopal Krishna Deodhar founded the Pune Sevasadan Sanstha in 1909 for the cause of upliftment of women. A 100 years ago, it was a daunting task to educate and financially empower orphan, needy, widow women. It could be made possible. only through donations from a charitable few. The legacy of women’s education and empowerment is not only being safeguarded for over more than 100 years but is also flourishing. Sevasadan expanded the scope of its work as per the emerging social needs.

Ramabai founded the Sevasadan Adhayapika Vidyalaya in 1914 with the aim to enable women to train other women.

The institute was established not just with a view to teach the school going students but to learn how to provide joyful education to these children. Teachers are trained to become proficient in sports and arts as well. Each year the merit list features several trainees from this Institute who have secured a distinction in different subjects. They take a lot of joy in the teaching and in shaping and developing their students.
